A simple procedure to fix the system32 hal dll error

Are you not able to start your PC because of system 32 hal dll error? This might be because the file is missing or corrupt. This problem can be fixed using the Recovery Console which is supplied with the Windows XP CD. To use this fix to solve the error, insert the Windows CD and start the computer. Press R when the Welcome screen appears. When prompted, enter the administrator password. In the command prompt, enter the following commands, in order:

ATTRIB -H -R -S C:\BOOT.INI

DEL C:\BOOT.INI

BOOTCFG /REBUILD FIXBOOT

After this, restart the computer and remove the CD from the drive. If the system32 hal.dll error still exists, repeat the instructions above to reach the command prompt and enter the following command:

EXPAND D:\I386\HAL.DL_ C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\HAL.DLL
