Healing

Too often it is assumed that most people in the world can read and write. Unfortunately this is not the case. It is estimated that only ten short years ago 16% of the world’s population was illiterate. There are many fine organizations throughout the world that work to correct this and one of my personal favorites is New Tribe Mission. Not only does this group go in to teach reading and writing to those in need, they also spread the word of God. This is in addition to teaching such skills as basic first aid. Through this multi-pronged approach, missionaries are working to heal the emotional, physical and spiritual parts of a person. What could be better?
